Creating and managing alerts

(Please note, the alerting feature is currently only available in Dimensions Analytics. It is planned to be added to Dimensions Plus in the near future.)

Creating a new alert

If you have searched for publications or grants and saved this search as a favorite, you can opt-in to receive weekly updates on up to ten new results for this search. The link "Show all new publications" opens Dimensions with a filter applied which only shows the publications or grants added during the last 7 days. You will also an email immediately after you've created an alert.

Alerts will not automatically be enabled for existing favorites, but you can manage alerts in a new overview page called "Browse Favorites".

How can I unsubscribe?

There are three ways of disabling alerts:

  1. "Cancel this alert" in the email: disables the alert, no login required;
  2. "Manage alerts" in the email: takes you to the "Browse Favorites" page where alerts can be managed (login required);
  3. In the application, go to the "Browse Favorites" page where all alerts can be managed.

Can I get multiple alerts in one email?

No, you will always receive one email per alert/search.

Can I get alerts for other content types, such as patents, clinical trials or policy documents?

This is not possible yet, but we are already working on it.
