Information on the researcher access moratorium due to COVID-19
Altmetric and Dimensions are adapting to the coronavirus pandemic in a number of ways, including a temporary scaling back of our free data access program for scientometrics researchers.
We hope that by doing so we can ensure that we provide the most efficient service and optimal experience to researchers who are focusing their efforts on informing our understanding of this global pandemic. We will also use this temporary pause to do critical behind-the-scenes work to scale our existing no-cost access program, improving response times and our ability to support all researchers using our products.
We therefore continue to welcome requests for free access from those researchers studying COVID-19 and related topics from a scientometrics perspective. To request free Dimensions/Altmetric access, please submit an application.
We will continue to provide technical support to researchers who are currently working with Dimensions/Altmetric data, to the best of our ability.
We ask researchers to temporarily postpone submitting requests for access that are unrelated to COVID-19, and to only contact our support team for urgent matters. Though we’ll do our best to respond to your emails, we can’t guarantee a response for inquiries that don’t match our priorities described above.
We don’t know when things will return to normal, but we’re hopeful we can reintroduce access for all at some point later in the summer or autumn of 2020. Please watch this space and sign up to receive emails to be notified (Dimensions, Altmetric) when that happens.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.
